ABOUT THE PRODUCT

Salt is an essential nutrient for animals consuming vegetable feeds (forage, silage, hay, straw, cereal grains) that contain insufficient amounts of sodium (Na) and chlorine (Cl). Both minerals are necessary to maintain the ionic balance of animal body fluids

For dairy cows, salt intake from licks is a precondition for subsequent consumption of adequate amounts of forage, which enables to achieve the cow’s full milk production potential

Animals consume the licks by licking them. To ensure salt intake is adequate for a given group of animals, licks should be available “at will”. This will not result in excessive salt intake that would be a threat to animal life or health. Once the sodium and chlorine needs are met, the animals will only lick the amount of salt that meets those needs
